Our place, though comfortably secluded, is just 12 km from Sansepolcro, a quaint medieval town where a famous artist, "Piero della Francesca", (1400's), was born. Within easy reach are several other fascinating towns, brimming with art and history, such as: Florence, San Marino, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Anghiari and Gubbio. Only a few km away is "Caprese Michelangelo", the hometown of Michelangelo, where you can visit the actual house in which he was born and the adjoining museum. On a hill nearby is a charming Franciscan convent, named Monte Casale, where Saint Francis use to pray. It is well worth the visit. In Chiusi della Verna, a town 20 km away, set in the beautiful surroundings of the national park "Foreste Casentinesi", is a gorgeous medieval convent founded by Saint Francis of Assisi. He lived there for many years. His bed, a whetstone slab, can be seen by visitors.
